Ingredients
Four cups sliced peaches, either fresh or canned (drained); half a cup melted unsalted butter; one cup all-purpose flour; one and a half teaspoons baking powder; half a teaspoon salt; one cup granulated sugar; one cup milk; one teaspoon vanilla; and, optionally, one and a half teaspoons powdered cinnamon
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 175°C/350°F.
Using an 8″ x 8″ baking dish, evenly distribute the peach slices in the bottom.
Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and half of the sugar in a mixing bowl until well combined.
smoothing with the addition of milk, melted butter, and vanilla essence.
Evenly pour mixture over fruit.
Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon, if using, on top of the mixture.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
Before serving, take the cobbler out of the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
Serve hot, garnished with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if preferred.
